Will I have to re-jet the carburetor with the Loud Mouth?

At sea level testing, we found that the stock jetting provided the perfect air-fuel ratio with our system on a stock bike. However, all bikes are subject to various conditions as well as wear and tear, so be sure to check your spark plug before and after mounting any performance upgrade in case jetting is required.

What about a backfire screen?

Aside from the fact that people are tearing their screens out on a daily basis to get more air in, all of our systems are complimented by a two stage, flame resistant Superflow No-Toil air-filter, designed specifically for the Loud Mouth intake system.

Will I really feel a power difference?

The Loud Mouth has gone so far as to impress our riders from the very first time they have started their bikes once equipped with a Loud Mouth intake system. Time and time again we hear: “I didn’t think an intake would do that!” The system doesn’t just make power; but you can also definitively hear the power. That’s why we named it the Loud Mouth. The Loud Mouth improves: Throttle Response / Horsepower / Torque / MPH / Confidence (lower lap times)

What about air flow? Doesn’t the stock air filter have a larger opening?

The Loud Mouth allows for a larger volume air filter, minus the filter cages and all other obstructions, allowing for a greater velocity of unrestricted air into your engine. It’s exactly what an aftermarket exhaust provides for your engine, only this increases (corrects) the flow from where it starts. You’ll find that your bike just need to breath with a Loud Mouth.

Is it really easier?

If you didn’t have to clean dirt out of your intake boot every time you “carefully” removed your air filter, wouldn’t the whole process be much simpler? Yes! With the Loud Mouth you can remove your air filter without dropping any dirt into your intake, and because the flange of the Loud Mouth is still clean, you can quickly reinstall a fresh filter back into the air box right away. Say good bye to paper towels! With the Loud Mouth, there is no more thumb screw, filter cage or unreliable grease seal, so you no longer have to clean those parts or the sketchy seal surface. You can literally safely change your air filter from dirty to clean in under 1 minute.

Will the air filter suck in or collapse since there is no longer a cage?

Absolutely not. The shape of the air filter provides the necessary structural integrity to prevent any such occurrence, even under the most extreme conditions. No-Toil wouldn’t make it if it did, and we wouldn’t sell it, period!

How is it safer?

The air filter clamps onto a secure lip onto the sealing surface and does not rely on a shoddy grease seal and thumb screw to keep dirt out. It is as secure as the seal onto the flange as your carburetor into the intake boot or your hose clamps to your radiator. In fact, we tested the filter’s seal onto the Loud Mouth by hanging 90lbs from the filter flange for 24 hours. It’s not going to get any better than that folks… Try that with your stock system!
